At the West Shore YMCA, there are fitness programs suited to anyone and everyone including youth and teens. We have a number of programs to help our youth put fitness into their routines.

Group Fitness Classes

Members at least 16 years of age may participate in all group fitness classes.  Members 12-15 years of age may participate with pre-approval from the Group Fitness Coordinator, & if accompanied by an adult  (18+) participating in the class.  A youth group fitness pass will be issued & must be shown to the instructor prior to the start of each class.  Please contact Angelica Ried to schedule an appointment (737-9622 x110).  For Spinning®classes, in addition to the above guidelines, a youth member must also be at least 4’ 11” tall and be properly fit by the Group Fitness Coordinator.

The Fitness and Wellness Center at the West Shore YMCA provides cardio equipment, weight machines, and plenty of room to stretch. With state of the art Cybex equipment including elliptical machines, treadmills, stationary bikes, and stair steppers, the Wellness Center provides everything you need to get fit. And, with access to personal trainers and the Y-Fit program, you’ll find the support you need to make a lasting lifestyle change at our gym.  Teens, ages 10-14 must complete the Teen Strength Certification, prior to using the Wellness Center with an adult.
