(Classes are held in Pool B)

AFYAP (Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program)
Low-impact water exercise.  The class is designed for people who have limited joint motion, strength or cardio-respiratory function.  The warm water and the gentle movement also helps relieve pain and stiffness.

 

Aquacize II
Mid-to-high cardio aerobic workout in shallow water consisting of stretching, running, abdominal and muscle toning. Not recommended for beginners or those with physical ailments.

 

Aqua Yoga
Gentle and very low impact aquatic activity. Aqua Yoga takes the principles and movements of Yoga and adapts them to the water environment. With the release of gravity the body is able to find the optimum stretch. By using the rhythm of the breath an inner sense of relaxation can be achieved.

 

AquaZumba®
Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

 

Hinges & Twinges
This exercise program utilizes the water to help ambulatory adults improve or maintain muscular joint movility through movements.

 

Aquacize
A shallow water program for beginner to intermediate exercisers; low impact to moderate pace.

 

Senior Aquacize
Aquatic fitness for the older adult or beginner exerciser.  Class includes stretching, muscle toning, and aerobic exercises done in shallow water with fitness equipment.

 

Water Walking
This class is great for anyone looking for fitness, therapy, stress relief and fun. In the 45 minutes of class the instructor will lead you through various exercises including a warm up and cool down that have you moving forward, backward and sideways. It is recommended that participants wear water walking shoes.  It’s not as easy as it sounds!

 

DEEP WATER CLASSES

(Classes are held in the Deep Well)

Deep Water
Provides an overall workout using all muscle groups.  Burn calories with cardio and muscle strengthening moves without impact on the body.  Intensity level and equipment used varies by instructor.

 

Deep Water Boot Camp
This advanced class provides an overall workout using all muscle groups.  General knowledge of deep water fitness exercises is recommended. Various equipment is used including aquatic barbells, buoyancy cuffs and medicine balls.

 

Pre-registration is not taken for our classes however each class has a class limit.  Spots are first come, first served.
