Welcome to YMCA Membership
The YMCA is a place for you and your family to experience and welcome an acive lifestyle. We offer something for the whole
family. This information will help you to get to know your YMCA and all it has to offer. The YMCA is a youth, adult and family non-profit, volunteer-driven
organization offering a wide variety of programs and activities for YMCA members and the community. We hope that your relationship with us is as meaningful to you and your
family as it is to us.

Our facilities and programs vary from branch to branch. What does not change is the focus of YMCA staff, volunteers, members and donors. All are dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, strong communities for every person!
General Policies
- YMCA Member ID or Photo ID is required for entry
- The YMCA is a smoke-free facility
- The YMCA is not responsible or liable for articles lost, damaged, or stolen. Lost and Found can be located at each branch. See front desk for details.
- Certain areas of the YMCA facility may be reserved for adult use only. Please check with the front desk for details.
- Food and drinks are not allowed in locker rooms, pools, and activity areas. We appreciate your help in keeping your YMCA safe and clean
- Youth must complete a Youth Fitness Orientation before using the strength and cardio areas
- At our branch locations, cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and personal checks are acceptable forms of payment.
- The YMCA charges a $30 fee for returned checks or monthly bank drafts
Child Supervision
- It is required that members who are ages 8 and under and who use the YMCA's building or grounds: 1) Be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian; or
2) be registered and participating in a supervised YMCA program
Attire
Shirts, shorts/pants, and closed-toed athletic shoes are required during exercise in the workout areas and basketball/racquetball courts. Street shoes are not permitted
in the gym or on pool decks. Proper swimming attire is required in pools.
Code of Conduct
At the Harrisburg Area YMCA, we expect staff, members, and guests to behave in accordance with our mission and values at all times, respecting the rights and dignity of others. At
the YMCA we demonstrated Respect, REsponsibility, Caring, and Honesty by:
- Speaking in respectful tones; refraining from the use of vulgar or derogatory language, and dressing appropriately.
- Resolving conflitcs in a respectful, honest, and caring manner, never resorting to physical contact or threatening gestures.
- Respecting others by refraining from intimate behavior in public, abstaining from contact of a sexual nature.
- Respecting the property of others; never engaging in theft or destruction.
- Creating a safe, caring enviornment, never carrying illegal firearms or devices.
- Participating in programs to build a healthy spirit, mind and body, never engaging in the use, sale, dispensing or possession of illegal drugs or narcotics, or the unsanctioned use of alcohol in the YMCA
Adhering to the YMCA Code of Conduct and regulations is essential. Inappropriate or offensive language, behavior, or attire is cause for suspension from the use of YMCA facilities
or programs. The Harrisburg Area YMCA reserves the right to suspend or cancel a membership or guest member if their conduct is judged to be in conflict with the welfare of other members of staff, or in conflict with the YMCA's values.
Photographs
Occasionally, the YMCA takes photos of our program participants and members enjoying programs, special events or facilities.
These photographs are for YMCA publications, brochures, advertisements or Web pages. Photographs are used at the discretion of the YMCA and become its sole property. By acceptance of membership or by registration in a program, members and guest members give their permission to the YMCA to use without limit
and obligation, photographs, film footage or tape recordings, which may include their image or voice for purposed of promoting the YMCA. If you do not wish
