Financial Assistance
It is the philosophy of the Harrisburg Area YMCA that no person or family be denied membership or program participation based on their inability to pay the standard fees. Your YMCA offers a program that allows us to help people access the life-changing services provided through our organization. Our awards are based on income, using a sliding scale to determine the appropriate level of assistance.
With our sliding fee scale, our level of assistance is based on the annual income and size of your household. We also consider special circumstances, such as medical expenses or recent loss of employment.
How can we do this? Funds for financial assistance are raised by volunteers during our Annual Support Campaign, Golf Tournaments and other events. Many of our YMCA members and program participants receive a scholarship, made possible through the generosity of individuals, businesses and foundations who have contributed to the Harrisburg Area YMCA Annual Support Campaign.
Scholarship applications are available. Download the application using the link at right (or left, or below, etc.), pick up an application at the Front Desk, or we can mail an application to you. Please allow 2-4 weeks to process completed applications. To ensure a timely turnaround, attach all required documentation.
